I completely love live Radio.

The immediacy of it, the power of that intimate connection between two people, and the knowledge that the output can change lives. Or even save lives - 2 callers credit me with saving theirs, but in truth they were the ones who found the courage to call in and talk about their situation. I was just honoured to hold the space for them.

I hosted my own weekly radio show on LBC for 3 years, and every show was an honour.

From speaking to sexual health campaigners, or to Love Island contestants, to the couple who gave me a tantric massage in the studio live on air, my show tore down taboos, explained the difference between vulvas and vaginas, and smashed the listening figures.

People crave intelligent, accessible information about relationships and sex, and my show provided that, as well as the chance for callers to have their dilemmas explored in real time and to finally feel heard.

Plus Carole Decker from 80s band T’Pau was listening in one night from her dressing room ahead of a gig and tweeted to ask ‘who is this amazing Naughty Mary Poppins on LBC right now?’ The name has stuck.

Hosting Late Nights with Lucy allowed me to channel my inner news swot and dive into the current affairs and  breaking news agenda (Brexit, Trump, Australian bush fires) as well as continue to place the stories of callers centre stage.

I also interviewed many people from the worlds of Arts and wellbeing, from influencer Megan Jayne Crabbe (aka BodyPosiPanda) about body positivity to Miriam-Teak Lee, star of West End musical &Juliet.

I also spent 18 months as the part-time on-air wife to Eamonn Holmes on his TalkRADIO Drivetime show, as we juggled breaking news with in-studio interviews – all with Eamonn’s well-loved generosity of spirit.

I hosted The Lucy Beresford Show on V2 Radio.

This show allowed me not just to create space for listeners, but I also got to play all my favourite music! Combining all my favourite tracks with chat about the week’s events, plus the #GirlPowerHour where I showcased the very best of female talent while giving listeners the chance to nominate the woman or women who made a difference to their life.
